UniteSF’s co-chairs are Katie Ferrick of LinkedIn and David Kaufman of Nixon Peabody.
Katie Ferrick works at the intersection of Social Impact, Public Policy, and Land use leading Community Relations efforts at LinkedIn. Katie moved to San Francisco in 1992 after earning a degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon, where she worked in sales and management roles. In 2001, she earned her Masters of Science degree in mental health Counseling from San Francisco State, followed by several years of civic commissions and volunteer roles in public schools. As a caseworker then Deputy District Director for Congresswoman Jackie Speier, she connected with a broad range of community needs and partnership models. In her role leading Community Relations at LinkedIn, she works to identify community needs that align with LinkedIn’s vision of creating economic opportunity, where she can leverage the strengths of LinkedIn as the world’s largest professional network to make a positive impact locally.
David Kaufman is the Director of Global Strategies at Nixon Peabody LLP. In his role, he manages and develops strategy for the firm’s International Practice, global offices, and relationships with law firms around the world. He has a long history of doing business in China, Canada, and Europe and has worked with NP’s China Practice since its creation. In addition to being Co-Chair of UniteSF, David is currently the Chair of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Bay Area chapter of Lawyers for Israel. He also serves on the Board and Executive Committee of San Francisco’s Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center.
